The workshop "Energy labels - a tool for energy agencies" was held in connection to the Annual ManagEnergy conference in Brussels on 19 October 2004. More than 40 participants anticipated.
Energy labels are an instrument of increasing importance, for examples energy labels for buildings, energy labels for appliances or also labelling of electricity.
The workshop presentations gave an overview of the present status in different labelling fields and - more importantly - looked into to future of energy labelling.
Speakers included the European Commission, the International Energy Agency as well as energy agencies and businesses. Interactive discussion groups offered the participants the opportunity to express their views on the best ways to promote energy labels, on future trends and on business opportunities offered by energy labelling. |

The workshop was organised in co-operation with FEDARENE, the European Network of Regional Energy and Environment Agencies, and as a part of the SAVE project "Energy Labels - making a greener choice".
It was a pleasure to welcome so many participants to this workshop and discuss how energy labels can contribute to a more sustainable energy production and use in Europe!
